Vinyl & Heat Transfer Printing Specialists

Heat transfer printing has long been a popular decoration method to create high-quality yet long-lasting custom clothing. At My Personalised Clothing, we have 20 years of experience in delivering quality heat transfer printing, utilising both vinyl and digital transfer to ensure you end up with the best possible finished garment.

Heat Transfer Vinyl Printing With The Highest Precision

Heat transfer vinyl printing is one of the most popular methods for creating single or dual-colour designs and is also popular for sportswear. It is the perfect option for adding names and numbers onto the back of football shirts and other items of clothing that require lettering or numbers – leavers hoodies for example.

We are always on top of the latest printing trends, which is why we offer CAD cut printing for all heat transfer vinyl orders. This ensures we can recreate your design accurately, using CAD technology to cut out the vinyl shapes with the highest precision.

Vinyl transfer printing is perfect for t-shirts, polo shirts, sportswear, leavers hoodies, custom merchandise and so much more.

How Does Heat Transfer Vinyl Printing Work?

Firstly, you create a design on your garment using our easy online design tool. Once we have received your order, the artwork is then cut out from a sheet of vinyl, matching the exact colour of your design. The excess material is then weeded out, leaving only the vinyl design to be printed. Your design is then heat applied onto the garment, much like a digital transfer print – more on that later. We offer many different types of vinyl, so you can always achieve your desired finish:

  • Matte – a timeless finish which can help to emphasise your lettering or design
  • Gloss – a shiny finish that makes your designs stand out, great for sportswear
  • Metallic – for a sleek and eye-catching look with a reflective finish
  • Flock – a soft and furry vinyl which creates a unique textured finish

If you require vinyl printing with a specialist finish, please speak to one of our team so we can meet your project requirements.

Examples Of Heat Transfer & Vinyl Printing

Digital Transfer Printing For Photos & Full-Colour Designs

Digital transfer and vinyl printing are very similar but, rather than using vinyl to apply prints to garments, a specialised transfer paper is used prior to the heat application process onto the garment. This process offers very high-quality image reproduction, as the transfer paper is less porous than fabric allowing for more ink to create sharp images and designs. Another benefit of transfer printing is that it can be used on almost any fabric.

Unlike screen printing and DTG printing, the design is printed onto transfer paper before it is applied to the garment so the fabric the print is being produced on is of less significance. This means that digital transfers can even be used to print on polyester sportswear and waterproof jackets. Digital transfer printing is perfect for creating the highest quality photo prints and is also great for smaller runs – starting from just one unit thanks to our no minimum order policy!

Should I Choose Vinyl Heat Printing Or Digital Transfer?

When it comes to choosing the best method for your custom clothing, it really does vary on a case-by-case basis. We have included the top considerations you should make if you are deciding which option you require. If you are still unsure, please speak to someone from our friendly team – we are always happy to help!

When To Choose Vinyl Heat Transfer Printing

If your custom clothing project fits the below specification, vinyl heat transfer printing may be the ideal method for you:

  • Your design is either single or dual-colour, and doesn’t require many different colours
  • You need to add names or numbers to sportswear, hoodies or other garments
  • You require a highly durable design for high-wear items like rugby shirts
  • Your design requires a specific texture or finish, such as matte, flock or metallic

When To Choose Digital Transfer Printing

If your project requirements align with the points below, digital transfer printing might be the most suitable method to choose:

  • Your designed print includes full-colour images or photographs
  • You need to print on less common materials such as nylon or polyester
  • You need high-resolution prints for promotional clothing or merchandise
  • You require a fast turnaround time for your custom clothing
